How Drinking Impairs Driving
The following link is provided for you to help you make more informed
decisions regarding your intake of beverage alcohol. If you are under
the age of 21, Washington State has a
ZERO TOLERANCE
policy towards underage consumption of alcohol.
Remember even a small amount of alcohol has an impact on your ability
to operate a motor vehicle, and that at .02, possibly as little as one
drink, your ability to perform certain tasks may suffer. If you are
over 21:
Remember if you’re drinking, don’t drive,
and if you’re driving, don’t drink.
Washington State has a Zero Tolerance stance towards underage
drinking. Persons under 21 years of age can be convicted of DUI with
a BAC .02% or greater.
Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) is one way alcohol impairment
related to driving activity is measured. The percentage of alcohol
in the bloodstream is affected by many variables including: age/gender,
weight, rate of consumption, food consumed prior to drinking, stress
and/or anxiety, drugs and medication. The programs below offer an
