In August, the Washington State Liquor Control Board
(WSLCB) permanently closed four enforcement field offices
due to budget constraints. Officers will continue to serve these
areas.
The offices are located in:
- Bremerton
- Everett
- Vancouver
- Wenatchee
We’ll continue to serve these communities
The WSLCB remains committed to meeting the needs of these
communities and offering our regular services – only in slightly
different ways. For example, officers will lead the free
“responsible liquor and tobacco sales” classes at other WSLCB
enforcement offices, local locations and at licensed businesses.
Contact your local enforcement officer
Licensees in the affected areas can learn more about these
closures by contacting their
local WSLCB enforcement officer , calling the WSLCB
Enforcement Customer Service line at (360) 664-9878 or sending
an email to
EnfCustomerService@liq.wa.gov.
WSLCB reductions and cost savings
The WSLCB is using a variety of
cuts and cost
savings – including these closures – to cover the $3.8
million budget gap that emerged when the 2009-11 Operating
Budget removed the General Fund allocation for the WSLCB Tobacco Tax
Unit. The WSLCB is expected to absorb the cuts while continuing
to enforce tobacco tax laws.
